Prince Edward-Hastings MP Daryl Kramp was in Picton on Canada Day to announce funding for the Macdonald project, celebrating what would have been the 200th birthday of our country’s first prime minister.
The Canadian Government has given $300,000 to the fund for education materials and a bronze statue that was also unveiled on Canada Day in Prince Edward County.
The fund celebrates the life of Sir John A. Macdonald, who spent roughly 11 years in the area as a young lawyer.
