Bancroft OPP officers will be on the roads this summer, looking to reward youth who are demonstrating: personal safety, community participation and community pride.
The detachment is working with the North Hastings Children’s Services Youth Advisory Board and Jug City on Operation Youth. It’s a positive ticketing program where officers will give kids a voucher for a free jumbo freezie from Jug City, just for behaving positively.
The OPP says it’s a chance to build relationships with youth in our community who are behaving well. The program is similar to others in Ontario, but it has been adapted to North Hastings.
