Tourism Organization awarded for Our Connections series

An organization that promotes tourism in the region has been awarded for its work.

The Ontario Highlands Tourism Organization won the 2022 Ontario Tourism Resiliency Award for Sustainability. The award recognizes a series of stories called Our Connections, which profiled several people who are working on unique projects that boost tourism. The campaign also put a focus on diversity and equity.

OHTO Marketing Director Julie Mulligan called the award “an honour” and said the series hoped to “inspire local residents and visitors.”

OHTO serves a large portion of Eastern Ontario, including Hastings and Renfrew counties. The award comes just after OHTO hosted its 2022 tourism summit in Huntsville, where more than 400 people attended to discuss how they can keep tourism sustainable.
