Child Sexual Exploitation Unit investigation leads to charges

Bancroft OPP has charged a 46-year-old-man following an investigation that involved the Child Sexual Exploitation Unit. 

The man is facing charges of luring a person under 16, invitation to sexual touching and distribution of child pornography. He has been in custody since being arrested on Nov. 14.

OPP say the case is a reminder for parents to take a proactive steps to protect their children from online sexual exploitation. They can do this by talking about internet safety. Resources are available at cybertip.ca.

Police also say anyone who wants to make a difference can go to protectchildren.ca and download the “Child Sexual Abuse – It Is Your Business” brochure.
