Everett Smith Memorial Fund benefitting NHCS kids

Some toddlers with North Hastings Children’s Services got a treat on Thursday, courtesy of a special friend. They went on a horse-drawn wagon ride. It was made possible by the Everett Smith Memorial Fund.

NHCS and the Smith family hope it will be the first of many opportunities to put smiles on the faces of local children.

The fund was announced last June, as the community mourned the accidental death of the nearly-two-year old boy, who was enrolled at NHCS.

The Smith family says they’re grateful for the overwhelming support they’ve received and donations to fund. And they’re working with NHCS to ensure it’s a long-term fixture.

NHCS Executive Director Jessica Anderson says she and her staff are working with the family to make sure the fund is sustainable and continues to fund projects that will “spread joy” in Everett’s legacy.

More information on the fund and how to donate can be found here.
