A Pine that has deep roots in our county is set to retire.
Hastings County Chief Administrative Officer Jim Pine has announced he’ll end his long career in public service at the end of June.
The county is now recruiting a new, full-time CAO, who would work out of its Belleville office.
Pine has held the top administrative role with the County for more than 15 years and has worked in a variety of municipal affairs roles for over 40 years.

In a statement Warden Bob Mullen thanked Pine for his work on many “innovative initiatives” with Hastings County and added Pine will be “difficult to replace.”
Mullen also said a CAO Search Committee “will be diligent in the recruitment efforts” so it can bring in “another strong leader for the County.”
