A lot of things are on the rise in the municipality of Highlands East. In a few staff reports from the last council meeting, councilors found that fire calls are up 50 percent from last year and they were mostly medical calls. Something else that’s up significantly from last year is construction values which have increased drastically by 1.4 million. Finally, councilors got a report from their auditor showing a surplus a little higher than they anticipated and an improved cash position.
