After ‘Truth’ show, Art Gallery of Bancroft opens ‘Reconciliation’

The National Day for Truth and Reconciliation has just passed, but the Art Gallery of Bancroft wants to keep the dialogue on the topic open for the next month.

Its October exhibit is called “Reconciliation.” The show will feature the work of non-Indigenous or “settler” artists, who have used art to express what reconciliation means to them.

An opening ceremony takes place at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 5 at the Gallery, at 10 Flint Ave.

The event will feature music by the Shawashkong Ikwe Singers and Indigenous cuisine.

The “Reconciliation” exhibit is a follow-up to the September gallery, which was called “Truth” and featured the work of Indigenous artists.
