It looks like the sports fields at Bird’s Creek Park will shine brighter in the future.
Work has been taking place at the well-used Hastings Highlands spot for several weeks this fall.
New poles are being added around baseball fields.
Hastings Highlands officials say they can’t talk publicly about the work yet but expect to reveal the details at a celebration later this fall.
However, some public documents give a hint at what’s being done.
This summer, the municipality put out requests for proposals for electrical and lighting work, as well as for new soccer netting at the park.
Bird’s Creek Park, off South Baptiste Drive, is often a busy place on summer nights, as many families attend the park for youth sports programs.
