The director of a construction company has been charged with fraud in Bancroft.
The Bancroft OPP says a local non-profit group reported the fraud after a construction company was hired to build a multi-unit building locally. It says the group asked for its deposit back when progress on the project was slow, but that it was told by the insurance company that bonds were invalid.
A 33-year old Belleville man faces two counts of make a forged document and two counts of uttering a forged document. He’s due in Bancroft court Aug. 18.
