Two health units are continuing to investigate an outbreak of food poisoning from fresh raw shrimp.
Hastings Prince Edward Public Health and the Haliburton, Kawartha, Pine Ridge District Health Unit are looking in to the infection. It can’t spread between people. You’re not at risk of infection from eating shrimp.
The HKPR Health Unit says five of six cases seem to be linked to a shrimp farm in Campbellford. HPEPH’s Medical Officer of Health Dr. Richard Schabas says he’s concerned about more unreported cases.
You can contact public health if you experience symptoms.
