From waterways to highways, OPP will be out this weekend in an effort to keep people safe.
From Aug. 2-5, Bancroft OPP will conduct their annual civic holiday traffic campaign.
OPP will focus on speeding, seatbelts, distracted driving, impaired driving and failing to move over for emergency vehicles.
Bancroft OPP say they will also have their marine unit out on local lakes and rivers.
They say this will be accomplished through “various enforcement methods, tools, and RIDE programs”, noting they will be out on local highways and roadways, trails and trail openings.
In the words of Bancroft’s Operations Sgt. Trevor Pitts, people are reminded to: “buckle up, stay safe, slow down and stay sober”.
