Around 4 p.m. Thursday a facebook user posted a shot of a large bird running down the Detlor Road, near Highway 62 with the caption “There’s an emu on the loose.”
The couple who posted said they were surprised to see the bird.
“We just saw the emu in the middle of the road, there was a few cars stopped. The cars are what caught our attention first.”
“It kind of took us off guard because we were like, ‘ hmm thats not a turkey’ It’s not something you would expect to see on Detlor road that’s for sure.
The couple said they had called the non-emergency line of the OPP to let them know.
