A driver in the Eganville area is facing several charges after initially evading members of the Upper Ottawa Valley OPP.
In the afternoon of Jan. 5, off-duty OPP intervened at a gas station in Bonnechere Valley Township to prevent an individual from driving.
The person then fled on foot resulting in the OPP Canine Unit and Emergency Response Team being deployed.
Police were not able to locate the individual at that time.
On Jan. 13, police arrested and charged a 34-year-old from Laurentian Valley Township with liquor, cannabis and highway traffic act offences.
The accused was released to appear in court in February, the vehicle was towed and impounded for 45 days.
