A stream of voters made their way through the doors at Birds Creek Public School this morning to vote just after polls opened at 9 a.m.
We spoke with one young family about some of the reasons they felt it was important to get out and vote today.
Holding her three-month-old after taking her turn at the voting station, new-mom Morgyn says support for families is critical in our area.
“We don’t have enough kids supports right now. There are a bunch of programs that are being shut down locally. We just don’t have the kind of funding that’s needed. We really hope whoever does end up getting voted in focuses on this, because it’s what we’re paying attention to as voters.”
