There are just a couple more days to submit a quick story for Kraft Hockeyville in Bancroft and give the community the chance to win $250,000 in arena upgrades.
Organizer Meredith Card says Bancroft has a real chance of moving onto the next round with a final rally from community members.
Bancroft is in the top 10 out of more than a hundred entries.
Getting to the next round of the contest depends on how many people log into the Kraft Hockeyville website to submit ‘stories’.
Card says its actually a pretty easy thing to do.
“I think a lot of people are getting hung up on the word story where it’s just actually answering three questions with 150 characters for each section… you know, if you’re writing the words North Hastings Community Centre, that takes up a lot of characters. So it was just really getting people to understand that they don’t have to write their life story, they don’t have to write an essay, they just have to answer three questions, and it could be really personal information or experiences if they wanted, but it doesn’t have to be either.”
Card said anyone that needs help can find tips in a video on the Bancroft Minor Hockey Facebook page.
Everyone in the community is encouraged to submit a story to Kraft Hockeyville for the chance to majorly revitalize a vital community hub.
The deadline to submit stories is March 1, with the nomination period closing on March 2.
