The Art Gallery of Bancroft raised over $11,000 at last weekends AGB’s 43 silent auction and Mystery Art Grab fundraiser.
The fundraiser was in support of the gallery’s 43rd year operating.
Local artists donated work to an online silent auction-a first for the gallery, as was the accompanying Mystery Art Grab, where artists donated 10X10 art pieces that were unsigned and then chosen to purchase by attendees.
Local artist Patrick Doherty, one of the contributors to the event, says its all for a great cause.
“It’s going to a good purpose..what are artists without an art gallery? They can’t rely on grants and commissions all the time.”
The auction will support exhibitions as well as the gallery’s educational and community outreach programs.
Next up at the gallery is the Under 19 juried exhibition, opening this Friday.
