Councillor David Shulist has been elected to fill the late Mayor Mark Willmer’s council seat.
During Tuesday’s Council in Committee Meeting, the appointment process to replace the mayoral vacancy was completed and Shulist was selected.
A Special Council Meeting will be scheduled to complete the Declaration of Office, amend relevant appointment by-laws, and declare Councillor Shulist’s current seat vacant.
David Shulist has served as both Councillor and Mayor for the Township of Madawaska Valley.
