Angela Rintoul named new Dean of Algonquin College’s Pembroke Campus

Angela Rintoul has been appointed as the new dean of Algonquin College’s Pembroke Campus.

She will be the campus’s eighth dean, and brings 20 years of experience in health care and over a decade of academic leadership to the role, the college stated in a news release last week.

Rintoul most recently served as acting dean, prior to that, she held the position of academic chair of the health and community studies department.

“Angela brings a calm, thoughtful, and inclusive leadership style that has already had a meaningful impact on our campus culture,” said Claude Brulé, President and CEO of Algonquin College.

“Her ability to balance academic excellence with strong community partnerships makes her the ideal choice to lead the Pembroke campus forward.”

A former registered nurse, Rintoul began her career in Nunavut before earning a master’s degree in nursing in advanced nursing practice and working as a nurse practitioner.

Her frontline health care and post-secondary education experience shapes her leadership approach on the learner-focused campus, say college officials.

“I’m deeply honoured to serve as dean of the Pembroke campus,” Rintoul said. “This is a remarkable community of learners, educators and partners. I look forward to continuing to support student success and innovation while championing the values that make our campus such a vital part of Renfrew County.”

Located on the banks of the Ottawa River, Algonquin College’s Pembroke Campus offers more than 20 programs, including outdoor adventure, nursing, trades, business and technology.
