The first-ever 50/50 raffle draw in support of Hospice North Hastings has wrapped up with a big win — both for the jackpot winner and the community.
Dianne Martin of Bancroft took home the $5,910 jackpot after the draw was completed Monday.
The May raffle marked the launch of a new monthly fundraising initiative by Hospice North Hastings.
In addition to the prize, organizers say the draw exceeded expectations and delivered vital support for hospice services in the community.
“The 50/50 raffle not only brings joy to the winner but also makes a lasting impact on the lives of local families in need,” said hospice board chair Michael Brooks.
All proceeds from ticket sales go toward programs and services for individuals and families facing life-limiting illness in the Bancroft area.
Tickets for the next draw are on sale now through June 29, with the winning ticket to be drawn on Monday, June 30. Tickets can be purchased online at www.hospicenorthhastings5050.com.
Organizers thanked the community for its support, saying the success of the first draw sets a strong foundation for the months ahead.
