The Town of Bancroft applied for a number of grants to support infrastructure, recreation and capital projects for the 2024/2025 season, council heard during its June 3 meeting.
Hastings County funding will go towards North Hastings Inspiration Place in Bancroft for affordable housing built above the library building and an Ontario Trillium Fund grant for development of an accessible playground in Riverside Park.
Funding was also awarded for a Connecting Link construction project on Valleyview Drive. Connecting Links are municipal roads or bridges that link provincial highways through a community.
Council also discussed several pending grant applications, including a submission to the Community Sport and Recreation Infrastructure Fund. If approved, the funding would support upgrades at the North Hastings Arena.
Staff confirmed that additional grant applications are being prepared to address other municipal needs in the upcoming year. You can see the list of grant applications that the Twn is working on below.
