Six people are facing charges following a Huntsville OPP investigation, which lead to the closure of Highway 11 yesterday.
Police say local officers received reports of an armed home invasion in the Hillside area, east of Huntsville, around 5 a.m.
An ensuing OPP investigation led to the closure of Highway 11 in both directions between Severn River Road and Coopers Falls Road, and between Canning Road and Graham Road. A hold and secure was issued, locking drivers in their cars for several hours.
Police say, Aviation Services assisted with aerial support, while crisis negotiators and crime units were actively engaged in the response on the ground.
As a result, six people were arrested and taken into custody.
Investigators believe additional suspects remain at large, along with a Silver Honda CRV with the Ontario plate – CZFE 895.
A police investigation is ongoing.
