As of March 28th, all gatherings of five or more people have been banned by the provincial government.

An updated list of essential workplaces has also been released by the provincial government.

Recurring events:

  • Practices, games and tournaments for teams associated with the Ontario Minor Hockey Association have been cancelled for the rest of the season.
  • “Reading, Rhyming & Running Around Early Literacy and Play” at the Hastings Highlands Public Library that happens Tuesdays has been postponed.
  • Maynooth Farmers’ Market
  • 1st Bancroft Beavers, Cubs and Scouts’ weekly meetings are “on hold.” They say to watch their Facebook page for more information.
  • Bancroft Martial Arts are cancelling all classes until the North Hastings Community Centre reopens.
  • Non-essential visits to Hastings Centennial Manor are suspended until further notice.
  • Bancroft Curling Club is cancelling curling and all curling events for the remainder of the season.
  • All gatherings at Hastings Highlands municipal facilities will be postponed until further notice.
  • “Friends for Dinner” at Cenotaph park will be cancelled for this and the next two weeks. Take-out will be offered along with coffee for those interested on March 18th.
  • The Municipality of Tweed’s Municipal Office doors has been locked due to COVID-19. The office remains in operation, if you need to access any services or have questions please call 613-478-2535.  Administration staff will be answering your calls.
  • Giving Back youth charity has cancelled their “Poker Club” at Club 580 until further notice.
  • Wilberforce Legion is closed until further notice.
  • Maynooth Foodbank closed until further notice.
  • Coe Hill Foodbank is closed until further notice.
  • Choices Thrift & Gift Shop will be closed from March 14th until April 5th.
  • The Hastings Highlands Municipal Office will be closed for public entry from Monday, March 16th to Sunday, April 5th. As a result, all meetings during that time period will be postponed.
  • Bancroft Community Lunch at St. John’s Church has been cancelled until further notice starting March 17th.
  • Wollaston Township Municipal Office will be closed to the public until further notice. All committee and municipal events are cancelled as well.
  • Joe Foley Bus Lines in Madoc has cancelled the Bancroft to Belleville trip that happens on Fridays.
  • Carlow/Mayo Township has closed the municipal office, public works garage, Carlow Community Centre, Mayo Community Centre, and the Carlow/Mayo Public Library until further notice.
  • The Country and Western Dance with the Bancroft Curling Club on May 2nd has been cancelled.
  • Hastings Highlands council announced all its meetings to be held between March 19th and April 5th will be postponed.

April 25th

  • North HastingsVolunteer Celebration 2020 has been postponed. The event will be rescheduled.

May 4th

  • North Hastings Music Festival has been cancelled. It was scheduled to run from May 4th to the 8th. Organizers say they hope to host the event in 2021.

May 7th

  • Ladies Coffee Hour at the Bancroft Bible Chapel has been cancelled.

Previous cancellations, closures, and postponements

March 13th

  • Community Development Council of Quinte says the Good Food Box program will be cancelled in Bancroft. They say they will reassess the situation and update Facebook next week.

March 14th:

  • Good Food Market program
  • 11th Annual Seedy Saturday in Maynooth has been cancelled
  • Euchre game at the Corner Cafe at the North Hastings Hospital is cancelled.

March 17th

  • “Mend-It in Maynooth” at the Hastings Highlands Public Library will be rescheduled.

March 18th

  • Community Development Council of Quinte has postponed deliveries of its Good Food Box program until April. They say all payments and orders will be honoured.
  • March Break open gym at Bancroft Gems Gymnastics has been cancelled.
  • Bancroft Eye Care will be closed until April 1st. They ask anyone with an “urgent eye care situation” to call them at 613-332-1234 and they will respond as quickly as possible.

March 19th:

  • Hastings Highlands council announced all its meetings to be held between March 19th and April 5th will be postponed, but a special meeting of council will be held on March 18th to deal with “urgent items.”
  • Everything you want to know about Cannabis (but are too embarrassed to ask your kids) at the Village Playhouse has been postponed.
  • Reading of “I Am Lovable” at Hastings Highlands Public Library has been cancelled.
  • March Break open gym at Bancroft Gems Gymnastics has been cancelled.

March 20th

  • “Home Coming” tournament that was to be held at the North Hastings Community Centre from March 20th to the 22nd has been cancelled. Chairman George Eastman says they will try to reschedule the tournament in accordance with what Hastings-Prince Edward Public Health recommends.

March 21st

  • The annual Merry Micks Concert has been cancelled. You can refund your tickets the Harvest Moon in Maynooth.
  • Cabin Fever in Maynooth has been cancelled.

March 23rd

  • Parkinson’s Canada support group meeting that was to be held at the Bridge Community Church in Bird’s Creek has been cancelled.
  • The next public Board meeting for Hastings and Prince Edward District School Board was scheduled for Monday, March 23, 2020.

March 24th

  • Bancroft Horticultural Society meeting scheduled for March 24 has been cancelled
  • North Hastings Fur Harvesters’ meeting for March 24th is cancelled due to the high school being closed

March 25th

  • Alzheimer Society of Hastings-Prince Edward has cancelled their “Shaken Not Stirred” event. They say they will look to reschedule the even sometime in fall 2020.

March 27th

  • Bancroft Pregnancy Care Centre has rescheduled its Spring auction to May 8th.

April 2nd

  • The Bancroft Bible Chapel Ladies Coffee Hour is cancelled.

April 4th

  • Sign Making fundraiser in Cardiff for Relay for Life has been rescheduled for May 30th.
  • Bancroft & Area Stewardship Council has postponed its Environmental Summit at Algonquin Park. They say they will reschedule it.
  • Bruton and Clyde Hunters Association Annual General Meeting at the Dungannon Recreation Centre has been postponed. Organizers say it will “possibly” be rescheduled.

April 9th

  • North Hastings High School’s “Prom Project” has been postponed.

April 19th

  • “The Manhatten Project” screening in Maynooth has been cancelled.
