Limerick, Tudor and Cashel, Wollaston Townships declare total fire ban

A total fire ban has been declared for the Townships of Limerick, Tudor and Cashel and Wollaston.

Because of the large amount of blowdown in the forest from the Dericho last year the forest fire risk is very high because of the tinder dry conditions caused by the dry and hot weather this week.

There is a total fire ban on all open-air fires within the three townships meaning no campfires, warming fires, or fireworks are allowed.

Propane barbecues are still allowed if it has a shut off valve and can be easily turned off and is on a non-combustible surface.

This total fire ban is in effect until further notice.
