It’s another big win for Qwin Goodwin.
The North Hastings High School graduate has been awarded a Governor General’s Academic Medal.
It recognizes outstanding scholastic achievement. It goes to the student graduating with the highest average from their high school.
The Hastings & Prince Edward District School Board says it’s become one of the most prestigious awards a Canadian student can achieve. Past recipients include Prime Ministers Pierre Trudeau and Kim Campbell.
Earlier this year, NHHS announced Qwin had earned a rare Schulich Leadership Scholarship. He is off to Queen’s University in the fall to begin aerospace engineering studies.
