Hospice North Hastings taking “pause” for January

The Chair of Hospice North Hastings says rumours about the organization’s demise are not true and the organization is, instead, planning for its future.

A social media post by Michael Brooks, released Tuesday, says Hospice North Hastings will take a “pause” in January, with plans to re-launch in February.

He explains that the pause is to “ramp up our staffing in preparation for the future, so that we can provide services that you, the community deserves and expects.”

Brooks also wrote that “the past year has been a year of self-reflection and self-improvements” and that the organization now has a new “board that anyone would be proud of.”

He also notes that Hospice has “fantastic, caring and hardworking staff and volunteers” and that the organization is “financially sound.”

Hospice North Hastings, located at 27 Bridge St. E. in Bancroft, provides care for people facing life-threatening illnesses, usually at an advanced stage.

My Bancroft Now Dot Com is reaching out to Hospice to try and learn more.
