Hydro One: 3,400 still without power Friday morning in Bancroft area

A Hydro One spokesperson said Friday morning there are still 3,400 customers without power in Bancroft and area.

It’s a big step forward from the 11,000 plus that were without power just yesterday, as work crews from the distribution utility continue their efforts.

Bianca Pizzo told MyBancroftNow this morning that she can’t pinpoint when power was returned to some of the people in the area, but can when it is completely restored.

Pizzo said high winds and temperature drops impacted work crews, who have removed tree branches and limbs that fell onto power lines.

Pizzo said returning power depends on what crews encounter as they work away.

The Hydro One website alerts readers that as crews work to restore power to customers in hard to reach locations after Wednesday’s severe storm, they encourage preparing for the potential of an extended outage as high winds are forecast today, and into the weekend.

Hydro One encourages restocking emergency kits with water and nonperishable food.
