Learn about the lakes at North Hastings Public Library

A stewardship coordinator is stopping by North Hastings Public Library to talk about lake water.

Gavin Vance, with the Federation of Ontario Cottagers’ Associations, will host an information session on Wednesday from 1-2 p.m.

In an interview with MyBancroftNow, Library tech Shannon Hockley said Vance will talk about the “lakes around us” as well as discuss lake ecosystems.

Guests can take part in an activity that teaches how communities can sample their own lakes to learn what is in them the best way to protect and conserve them through the Lake Partner Program.

Also this week at the library, guests can sign up for Euchre for $5 on Thursday, starting at 1 p.m. That continues each Thursday in July and August.

On Saturday, the ‘Littles at the Library’ program at 10 a.m. features story time and a craft.
