Bancroft voter registration road show aims to support seniors

Town of Bancroft staff will visit five seniors’ apartment buildings later this month to help residents ensure they are on the voters’ list for the Oct. 26 municipal election.

Residents of Riverstone Residence Inc., Hastings Centennial Manor, Riverside Chateau, York River Heights Complex, and R.J. Brooks Living Centre will have voter registration support brought directly to their buildings. Staff will be on site to help eligible residents check, update, or add their information to the list.

“These scheduled visits are intended to make the registration process simple, convenient, and accessible for residents living in these buildings, especially anyone who may have questions about their voter information or who would prefer in-person assistance instead of using online services,” said a town press release.

Staff will be available to provide support and answer voter registration questions so residents can feel confident they are ready to vote.

“Voting is an important way for Bancroft residents to help shape the future of the community. Making sure voter information is accurate in advance helps ensure residents are prepared when it is time to cast their ballot,” added the release.

While delivering flyers to seniors’ residences, town staff met resident Delwin Weichenthal, who welcomed the support.

“I don’t know if I’m on the list, so that will be a good help.”

For more information or assistance with voter registration, contact the Town of Bancroft at 613-332-3331 or visit www.bancroft.ca and click on the Municipal Election 2026 tab.
