Murder suspects spotted in Hastings County

Niagara Regional Police are still looking for two murder suspects and any information from the public after the 2016 Toyota Camry they were driving was spotted in Hastings County on Tuesday.

Police say Maroof Bangi, 23, and Josta Grace Macneal, 30, are wanted for second-degree murder and Canada-wide arrest warrants have been issued.
The vehicle was seen on Highway 45 in Hastings County, but police have since updated the investigation and say the car was found abandoned in Saint Eustache, Quebec on Wednesday.

Bangi is described as 5 foot 6 with a skinny build and dark skin. He was wearing a white T-shirt, dark pants and shoes, sunglasses and a red bandana.
Macneal has dark brown hair and brown eyes. She was wearing baggy blue sweatpants, a grey hooded sweatshirt, and white shoes. She is known to have a distinctive feather tattoo located on the left side of her neck.

Police add the pair may take steps to alter their appearance to avoid detection, including changes in facial hair, length and/or colour of hair, makeup, or clothing styles.

Police said a firearm has not been recovered and the two are still considered armed and dangerous.

Niagara Regional Police responded to a Thorold Stone residence in Niagara Falls on Thursday, July 16 after a report of a male being shot.

The victim has been identified as 35-year-old Mitchell Snodden of Niagara Falls.
Investigating officers initially determined that two suspects attended the residence and shot the victim with a handgun.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Bangi or Macneal is asked to contact Niagara Regional Police or Crime Stoppers.
