Outdoor kitchen party at community cupboard a big success

Everything went according to plan.

Stephen Petrick said the North Hastings Community Cupboard Kitchen Music Party was a big success on Tuesday night.

An outdoor music and BBQ fundraiser, four performers kept guests entertained at the facility on Madawaska Street, including The Rebel Blossoms who provided sound.

“We had fans of those musicians and just curious onlookers come by to check it out,” Petrick told MyBancroftNow.

“It was cool how the music echoed through the neighbourhood and just drew people to the site. The BBQ was excellent and it gave people a chance to donate and it provided food for those in need.

“It was a beautiful night and we’re really glad that our supporters and local musicians embraced the event. We had some really positive feedback and hope to do it again.”

The community cupboard has served the region as a registered and licensed food bank since 1992.

Petrick said monetary donations have not yet been counted, however, he anticipates they raised several hundred dollars.
