Today is the day: North Hastings District Hospital Auxiliary Radiothon is underway

Paul Price Ford in Bancroft is homebase on Friday for the North Hastings District Hospital Auxiliary Radiothon.

The 18th annual event is raising funds for the North Hastings Hospital Fund Development.

Volunteer Debbie Speck told MyBancroftNow the auxiliary is committed to a three-year, $300,000 pledge to support the Care in the Cart Campaign to purchase equipment for the hospital.

Nicknamed ‘Donor Wall Debbie’ for her efforts at honouring donors over the years, Speck says raising funds for the local hospital is vital to ensure it has up to date equipment for staff and patients – both local residents and cottagers who visit the area, and it also helps with recruitment.

The radiothon runs until 6 p.m. today and you can follow along on 97.7 Moose FM.

The radiothon has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars over the years, Speck said.

You can drop into the dealership at 38 Hastings St. North to donate, call in a donation or send an e-transfer.

Go to the North Hastings Hospital Fund Development website to donate or for more information.
