CRA Virus Concern Shuts Down E-Filing

The Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) is taking action after receiving information about an Internet security risk called the Heartbleed Bug. To protect the confidentiality of Canadian’s taxpayer information, the CRA has temporarily shut down public access to their online services. Applications like EFILE, NETFILE, My Account, My Business Account and Represent a Client are currently unable to access the CRA. The CRA realizes this could be a real inconvenience and consideration will be given to taxpayers who are unable to meet their filing requirements because of this interruption. Daily updates will be posted on the CRA website (www.cra.gc.ca) at 3:00 p.m. until the problem is fixed.
