A plan to introduce safe needle disposal boxes in Bancroft is moving forward.
Hastings and Prince Edward Public Health says the boxes will be put up in some parks and public spaces and washrooms this summer, to keep them needle and syringe free.
The aim is to keep the community from being hurt by them.
The health unit says Bancroft’s public works department will monitor these places on a daily basis.
Residents are being reminded not to touch any needles they may find lying around, and report them to the town.
