Communication tower by-laws change in Hastings Highlands

There are some new rules to follow to build a communication tower in Hastings Highlands.

Council has voted in favour of some amendments to its ‘Antenna System Siting Protocol,’ which gives the municipality some control over the placement, location, and function of the towers.

Councillor Alex Walder explains some of the amendments.

Walder says guy-wires on the towers will also have to follow the 1,000 metre rule. Companies looking to build communication towers in Hastings Highlands will also have to pay $1,500 for a siting fee, which is up from $1,000.
