Flood warning issued for York River

The Bancroft District of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry has issued a flood warning for the York River.

The MNRF says that means low-lying areas near the river will flood, or are currently flooding. It’s because recent rain and melting snow have caused water levels to rise.

You are being reminded to be cautious near any fast moving waterway, and when using forest access roads that can be prone to washouts.

A flood watch remains in effect for the Burnt, Ironadale, and Black rivers, and a flood outlook statement remains in effect for the rest of the Bancroft area.
