New Details in R&L Bus Lines Fire

There are new details in last weekend’s fire at the R&L Bus Lines yard on Highway 28.  Bancroft Fire Chief Pat Hoover tells our newsroom that the fire, which started around 9 a.m. Saturday, destroyed five working bays.  He says six fire stations responded and that there was both fire and water damage.  The blaze engulfed the 7,000 square foot building and an Ontario Clean Water Agency truck.  There’s no cause or dollar amount for damages yet.  But the fire chief says damages will be more than $100,000.  No one was injured.  The fire department is expected to release more details in the coming days.  A fundraiser for the business is being held at the North Hastings Community Centre on Easter Monday.  There’ll be a family skate and sandwiches for sale.  For full event details, click here.
