A Hastings Highlands man is facing charges after a theft took place at a store in downtown Bancroft.
The Bancroft OPP says a store employee called police when a man stole items on Tuesday. Police say the worker reported that the same man had unsuccessfully tried to steal a DVD player twelve days earlier.
The OPP found the man in a nearby vehicle with the merchandise and a prohibited knife. A 34-year-old man is facing theft, weapon and breach of probation charges. He was held for a bail hearing and released with a first appearance court date of September 8th in Bancroft.
