Township working to address geese issue along Barry’s Bay waterfront

The Madawaska Valley is continuing efforts to address the geese issue along the Barry’s Bay waterfront.

A resident wrote a letter about too many bird droppings being left at the beach at Lakeshore Park, which was read at the Recreation, Heritage and Culture Committee meeting yesterday.  Recreation and Community Development Coordinator Paul Nopper says a contract worker was hired at the beginning of August to maintain the waterfront three times per week.

The township is working with the Ministry of Natural Resources to find other ways to address the problem.
