Hastings Highlands settles Madawaska Road litigation

Hastings Highlands has settled a lawsuit against the municipality, stemming from Madawaska Road repairs.
Mayor Vivian Bloom has released a statement, saying the settlement was reached to avoid an expensive trial. The municipality would not comment on how much was paid.
Bloom says council feels it did nothing wrong and will not admit liability.
The repairs happened between 2014 and 2015, and Bloom says the project was completed on time and the municipality is pleased with the results.
