Prince Edward-Hastings MPP Todd Smith is happy to see the end of Drive Clean fees for vehicles.
This comes after the province announced it would be removing the $30 fee for Drive Clean tests as of Saturday. Smith says removing the fee will make it more fair for North Hastings residents, as it was not applied to many neighbouring municipalities.
Smith says removing the fee is a good first step.
Smith says he is concerned the province had been collecting money from the Drive Clean tests, a program he says was always meant to be revenue-neutral.
