Bancroft Mayor Bernice Jenkins is on a leave of absence. In a letter to council, Jenkins says she has taken the leave on the advice of her doctor and her family.
During this time, Deputy Mayor Paul Jenkins will be taking up the role of Acting Mayor. Jenkins says he would like to see council follow three principles; being inclusive, informative, and sustainable.
There is no word yet on when Mayor Bernice Jenkins will return from her leave.
