The Bancroft OPP is taking part in a province-wide blitz targeting speeders over the Canada Day long weekend.
Constable Philippe Regamey says speeding is a huge public safety concern.
Regamey says, although the focus will be on speeding, police will also be targeting other dangerous driving behaviours.
This comes as the OPP reports speeding has been the number one cause of death on Ontario’s roads this year, and has gone up 76 per cent since this time in 2016.
