The 1st Bancroft Scout Troop got the jump on Ontario’s Scout Apple weekend this year by going out on the Thanksgiving weekend instead. The Apple Day is a major fundraiser for the local scouts and all donations go towards quality programming for boys and girls. The Scouts Canada program is open to youth aged 5 to 26. Bancroft Scoutmaster Aaron Hill tells the Moose that the Scouts raised over $1,300 last weekend. The 1st Bancroft Scout troop meets on Mondays at 6:30 p.m., at Our Lady of Mercy School.
