The Haliburton, Kawartha, Pine Ridge District Health Unit is reminding parents to get their children’s vaccination records updated.
This comes as notices will start going out to students who are missing vaccines. The health unit says students could be suspended in the spring if they don’t have up-to-date immunization records or valid exemptions.
Manager of Communicable Disease Prevention and Control Marianne Rock says the last thing the health unit wants to do is suspend students.
Rock says sometimes it comes down to the health unit just not knowing that your child has all of their vaccines.
North Hastings High School is also reminding parents to ask their kids if they’ve received a notice from Hastings and Prince Edward Public Health. You are being asked to contact the health unit as soon as possible to update your child’s records.
