Organizers of the Terry Fox Run in Bancroft want to reward participants who go green this year.
Chair of the run Ron Speck says participants are being encouraged to use reusable water bottles. Those who do will be given a free t-shirt, worth $20.
Speck says this is an important initiative for the community, because we all need to do our part to reduce our carbon footprint.
Speck says it might also mean more people will take part in the event.
This year’s Bancroft Terry Fox Run will be held on September 16th in Millennium Park. Anyone who wants to start fundraising can download a pledge form by clicking here.
