Throughout the Easter long weekend, Bancroft OPP will be cracking down on those who don’t wear their seat belts.
Constable Philippe Regamey says local police will be taking part in a province-wide blitz to raise awareness about the importance of buckling-up for your own safety. He says people die every year because they don’t.
If you’re caught without your seat belt on this weekend, Regamey says you will have to face the penalties.
Regamey says it’s also your responsibility to make sure kids in your care are wearing their seat belts.
While the focus of this campaign will be on seat belts, the OPP will also target the other big four dangerous driving behaviours: Speeding, distracted, and impaired driving.
