Real estate sales in Bancroft have taken a dip compared to last year.
That’s according to a report from the Bancroft and Area Association of Realtors, which says home sales in May 2018 are down 41% from May 2017, which was a record month. However, the association says the 46 homes sold in May this year is just four off the 10-year-average for the month.
While home sales were down, the cost of homes sold in May rose to just over $320,000, up around 15% from a year ago. President of the association Dianne Fitzpatrick says that home listings in Bancroft hit a 20-year-low for the month of May in 2018. The report says that as of May 31st, there were 168 active listings in the area, the lowest it has ever been by this point of the year.
