The seventh Wheels, Water & Wings is in the books and the Bancroft BIA could not be happier!
They were worried it would be too hot this year, but the weather cooled down at just the right time. Jodi Didier is the Executive Officer with the Bancroft BIA. She said that it was incredible to see so many people crowd Hasting Street for the classic Car show Friday and the Motorcycle Show & Shine on the weekend.
There was also a new event this year. Didier says that turn-out for the Shake the Shield Poker Run was affected by other big Motorcycle rides happening this past weekend, but she’s optimistic for the future of the ride. She says that representatives from a few big Clubs in the area were impressed.
Didier added that after exceeding the expectations that were set out for the inaugural ride, she is working to make sure next year’s Shake the Shield is better. She sees big opportunities on the horizon.
Dider didn’t have the total money raised during the Poker Run yet, but she did say that she was happy with what was raised for “Kids in Need.” Next year’s charity hasn’t been decided.
