A new committee may be established by Bancroft Council next month.
At the Ad Hoc Fire Services meeting on Monday it was recommended by Council that the Ad Hoc Fire committee be transitioned into a permanent fire committee.
The Ad Hoc committee was established as a short-term solution after Bancroft’s joint fire service agreement with Hastings Highlands ended last month.
Bancroft Fire Chief Pat Hoover would meet with the purposed 3 person committee monthly or bi-monthly.
The fine details of the new fire committee will be hammered out at a Council meeting next month. Hoover said that he believes it’s likely it will be approved.
